PLEVEN - most of the sights of the town are related to the Russo-Turkish War. The monuments related to the war alone are about 200. Some of the more popular include the St George the Conqueror Chapel Mausoleum in honour of the many Russian and Romanian soldiers who lost their lives during the Siege of Pleven and the ossuary in Skobelev Park. Another popular and unique attraction is Pleven Panorama, created after (and reputedly larger than) the Borodino Panorama in Russia on the occasion of the anniversary of the Siege of Pleven. A marvelous city park is something you shouldn't miss - huge lakes, hills, caves, swimming pools, bars, restaurants, hotels..

Melnik -190km south of Sofia, huddling among frozen natural sandstone sculptures looking like haystacks, pyramids, temples, giant obelisks. Thracians, Romans and Byzantines have written its history. Melnik's houses are with wide eaves and towers, high stained glass windows, carved ceilings and large cellars where the famous Melnik red wines mature. Most houses were built during the Bulgarian Renaissance to testify for the richness of the commercial hub with 25,000 inhabitants. Do not miss the wine tasting in the numerous wine cellars!

Situated at an altitude of 224 m in the valley of a river, at the foot of the slopes of Pirin Mountain, the town of Sandanski is famous for the beauty of its scenery and a wealth of resources for spa and climatic treatment.
